Historically, the lotus has been referred to as the "flower of the virtuous," symbolizing nobility, prosperity, and the birth of life. The lotus motif, delicately blooming on the top of the chest, exudes a timeless elegance and embodies a heartfelt wish for the owner’s time to always remain clear and serene. This piece was completed through a painstaking process of applying and drying multiple layers of natural lacquer (Ottchil) on carefully selected wood. The deep, subtle luster unique to lacquerware provides an aura of dignity that grows even more profound as time passes.
