백수백복 옻칠 경상 두빛 Baeksu-Baekbok Ottchil Desk (Gyeongsang)

특히 천판(윗면)의 양 끝이 하늘을 향해 부드럽게 감겨 올라간 두루마리 형태는 경상만이 가진 독특한 조형미이자, 책이 옆으로 떨어지는 것을 방지하는 선조들의 지혜가 담긴 디자인입니다. 장수(壽)와 복(福)을 기원하는 백수백복(百壽百福) 문양을 새겨 넣어, 사용하는 이의 무병장수와 무한한 행복을 바라는 정성 어린 마음을 담았습니다. 

The Baeksu-Baekbok Ottchil Desk (Gyeongsang) combines the beauty and practicality of traditional Korean floor-sitting culture. Originally used for reciting Buddhist scriptures in temples or reading books in a scholar’s study (Sarangbang), the Gyeongsang is characterized by its stable, low height and compact scale, perfectly suited to the unique low-seated perspective of a traditional Hanok.

A defining feature is the "scroll-like" ends of the top panel, which curve gently toward the sky. This unique aesthetic also embodies the wisdom of ancestors, as the raised edges prevent scrolls or books from rolling off.
